Brentwood Health Center opened its doors March 23rd 1989 in Sagamore Hills, Ohio.
The Center was initially built by and affiliated with Brentwood Hospital in Warrensville
Heights, Ohio. Its current Owner and administrator, Brent Classen,
managed the design, construction, and start-up of Brentwood Health Care Center. Since the 1930’s, the
Classen family has had an active, vital and successful role in the development and history
of Health Care in the Cleveland area. Mr. Classens’ father Theodore F. Classen D.O. was
the founder of Brentwood Hospital where he had a successful General Surgery Practice
for 52 years. Mr Classens’ siblings are also physicians, Roger Classen D.O. General
Surgery, Greg Classen D.O. Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Gary Classen D.O.
Radiologist. A third generation of Classens continue to pursue careers in medicine and
have practiced or have been affiliated with Brentwood Hospital
(now South Pointe Hospital)
In 1994 Brentwood Hospital became South Pointe Hospital after a merger with Meridia
Health Systems. In 1998 Meridia Health Systems merged with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
As an affiliate of Brentwood Hospital, Brentwood Health Care Center followed along.
In 2002 Brent Classen purchased Brentwood Health Care Center from The Cleveland Clinic
establishing a family owned and operated Center providing skilled Nursing Care and
Rehabilitation.
Brentwood Health Care Center has an excellent reputation for providing quality
rehabilitation and superior care for the elderly. Currently 90% of admissions to Brentwood
Health Care Center return to the community after rehabiliation. Currently a new
rehabilitation wing is being constructed to meet the increasing demands for rehabilitation.
The wing will feature private rehab suites with private bathrooms and showers. The wing
will include a state of the art therapy room with a full residential kitchen and bathroom
for homebound therapy patients. Other amenities will include flat-screen TV/DVD players,
wireless internet, skylights and walking gardens. The state of the art Rehabilitation wing
is scheduled to open early 2009.
